Resident Inspection 50-423/85-16 (4/23/85 - 5/27/85)
This forwards NRC findings of the routine safety inspection of the Millstone Nuc-
lear Power Station, Unit 3.
Those findings have been discussed by Mr. T. Rebelowski
of this office with Mr. J. Crockett and other members of your staff.
During the inspection, maintenance evolutions resulted in flooding in part of the
Control Building.
That flooding was found to violate NRC requirements as cited
in the enclosed Appendix A to this letter.
Please reply to that violation in ac-
cordance with the instructions in Appendix A.
In addition, please address in your
reply your assessment of the need to revise generic maintenance procedures to limit
the time interval between verification of maintenance prerequisites and the com-
mencement of work.
