Dear Mr. Keppler:
References (a) through (c) provided information concerning a deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding the removal of nameplates from ASME large bore spool pieces at our Braidwood Station.
The purpose of this letter is to provide an updated status of the corrective actions being taken to resolve this issue.
This letter is considered to be a final Report.
Corrective Actions Being Taken As previously reported, Commonwealth Edison Company NCR No.
639 and Phillips, Getschow Company NCR No. 1783 have been generated to document this item and track its resolution.
The installed large bore piping spools that do not have ASME NPT nameplates continue to be identified as part of the Material Traceability Verification (MTV) Program.
Phillips Getschow Company is currently in the process of researching and verifying those spool pieces in accordance with their procedure, PGCP-51.
This research and verification will accomplish the following tasks:
1.
Determine the total population of installed spool pieces that do not have nameplates attached.
Verify the identity of installed spool pieces using ]?,
2.
manufacturer's documentation.
