IGSCC IN STAINLESS STEEL PIPING Re: James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Our letter of May 24, 1985 provided the conclusions of a staff review of the information you submitted concerning inspection of 38 welds in the reactor coolant system piping at the FitzPatrick plant and the repair of one weld during the recent refueling outage. In our letter, we stated our conclusion that the plant can be safely operated for at least one additional fuel cycle. Enclosed is our Safety Evaluation which provides the basis for that conclusion.

Our letter also requested that your plans for inspection and/or modification of the reactor coolant pressure boundary piping systems during the next refueling outage be submitted at least three months prior..to.the start of that outage.
