SUBJECT: NOTICE OF VIOLATION
HRC INSPECTION OF PALO VERDE NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION AND REPORT
NOS. 50-528/92-38, 50-529/92-38, AND 50-530/92-38
This letter refers to the routine inspection conducted by Mr. R. Bocanegra of
this office on October 26-30, 1992, and November 16-20, 1992, of activities
authorized by HRC License Nos. NPF-41, NPF-51, and NPF-74, and to the findings
discussed with Mr. P. Hughes and other members of ycur staff on October 30,
1992, and at the conclusion of the inspection on November 20, 1992.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the enclosed inspection
report. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with
personnel, and observation of activities in progress.
Based on the results of this inspection, one of your activities appeared to be
in violation of NRC requirements, as specified in the enclosed Notice of
Violation (Notice). This violation is of concern because radiological surveys
form the basis of a sound radiation protection program.
Although Section 2.201 requires you to submit to this office, within 30 days
of your receipt of this Notice, a written statement .of explanation, we note
that this violation had been corrected and those actions were reviewed during
this inspection. Therefore, no response with respect to this matter is
required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
