In accordance with yoar application dated April 23, 1985, its supplement dated May 20, 1985, and pursuant to Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 70, Special Nuclear Materials License No. SNM-696 is hereby amended to authorize an exemption from the criticality alarm requirements of 10 CFR 70.24(a) during the modification of your criticality alarm system subject to the following condition:
Condition 26. The licensee is hereby exempted from the provisions of 10 CFR 70.24 during the modification of the SV-A criticality alarm system insofar as this section applies to materials held in the SV-A building under this license subject to the following:
- a. The criticality alarm system shall be in service in all areas where the quantity of special nuclear material (SNM) i does not meet the exemption criteria in Section 4.2.1.4 of the specification volume with the exception of the SNM storage vaults in the SV-A building.
- b. There shall be no movement of any special nuclear material (SNM) into, out of, or within the SV-A building SNM storage vaults while the criticality alarm system is not in service.
All other conditions of your license shall remain the same.
You should note this amendment is an int (rim amendment. Action will be taken on the remaining items in your amendment request of April 23, 1985, after completion of its review.
