Reference:
Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation Letter NMP2L-0382 to USNRC dated April 10, 1985 We have received the above referenced letter which documented a change to the Nine Mile Point Unit 2 Quality Assurance Program. This change was to reference NRC approved Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation (SWEC) Quality Assurance Program as the governing document for safety related activities conducted by SWEC at Unit 2, instead of the Quality Assurance Program Manual (a lower tier document). The Region I staff has reviewed and found this change to be accept-able, as the new reference is more appropriate and it did not reduce commit-ments of your previously approved Quality Assurance Program.
The effectiveness of your QA Program implementation will continue to be the subject of routine regional inspections.
