2 W. M. Morrison NOV 161978 b) We disagree with the recomendation to eliminate the hose stn:am test in lieu of an orthogonal load test. This will not codel what a hose stream test does during fire extinguish-ment e.g., random forces and steata effects.
I c) Finally, we do not concur with the aced to conduct tdditional research fire tests of penetration seals. Penetration scals have already been verified by many applicants and licensees via full-scale testing and approved for in-plant use.
We do not consider that additional Regulator / Guides on fire barriers need Guide 1.120 addresses to be developed at this time since proposed Regulatory, draft Regulatory testing of fire walls and fire doors; also there is a Guide under review which cover electrical penctration seals.
