STATUS REPORT ON TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO OGC
. During the period since the last status report, WMUR has provided extensive technical assistance to OGC in connection with the ongoing litigation on the mill tailings regulations. The petitioners' motion for stay of the regulations pending the final outcome of the litigation was responded to by NRC at the end of the last reporting period. The Court denied the petitioners' motion in early June, ruling that the regulations would remain in effect throughout the period of litigation. The petitioners filed with the Court their detailed briefs on the merits of the case at the end of June. WMUR reviewed these briefs in detail and provided OGC with conenents I
and rebuttal arguments to each of the issues raised in the industry briefs (memos to OGC attached). In addition WMUR has comented on numerous draft versions and assisted in the preparation of our responding brief which was filed with the Court on September 28, 1981.
