Letter from Thomas M Parker, Northern Ctates Power. Company. to U S Nuclear Regulatory Commission dated December 23, 1991 titled

" Design Report for the Station Blackout / Electrical-Safeguards Upgrade Project," Revision 1 On December 23, 1991, we submitted for NRC Staff review the Design Report (Reference) for our project to add two safeguards emergency diesel generators, to upgrade the safeguards electrical distribution sy. stem, and to upgrade:the

  1. 121 cooling water pump to become a swing safeguards cump.

I j; --During an Instrumentation and Control System Branch on-site audit of this l project (conducted November 16 through 20, 1992), in response to questions, we made the following commitments:

l That we would provide a copy, when complete, of the evaluations.being performed to assess the impact of the new load sequencers on the current L accident analyses.

1 i

That we would complete site electromagnetic interference testing of the:
j. load sequencer programmable logic' controllers in the 30.Hz to 10 kHz range de-ing the Integrated Safeguards Test to be performed near the end of the e ant outage. The purpose of this testing is to_ determine if the quulfication of the equipment is adequate _for the site electromagnetic environment. This data will be analyzed to ensure the load sequencers will operate effectively in the plant environment.
