NOTICE OF VIOLATION, NOTICE OF DEVIATION
(NRC Inspection Report No. 50-344/92-30)
This refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. C. Barr and Mr. J. F. Melfi
of this office on September 15 through October 26, 1992. The inspection
included a review of activities authorized by License No. NPF-1 for the Trojan
Nuclear Plant. At the conclusion of the inspection, the findings were
discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.

Based on the results of mis inspection, one of your activities appeared to be

report for a discrepant chlorine detector. One non-cited violation is also
discussed in paragraph 9 of the enclosed report, involving an issue which was
identified by your staff, discussed in a licensee event report, and addressed
by appropriate corrective actions. This violation is not being cited since
the criteria of Section Vll.B of the Eaforcement Policy ware satisfied. A
deviation from an FSAR commitment was also noted, as set forth in the enclosad
Notice of Deviation.
Although Saction 2.201 requires you to submit to this office, within 30 days
of your receipt of the enclosed Notice of Violation, a written statement of
explanation, we note that this viclation had been corrected and those actions
were reviewed during this inspection. The inspectors also noted that you had
taken appropriate actions to address the identified deviation.
Therefore, no
response with respect to these matters is required.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of th: NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of
this letter and its enclosures will be placeu 'n the NRC Public Document Room.
