dated April 29, 1985, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) requested a revision to the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Technical Specifications to delete Table 3.8.1,

" Con t a inmen t Penetration Conductor Overcurrent Pr o t e c t iv e Device Test Se t po in t criteria."

This letter and the attached marked-up copy of page 3/4 8-16 of the Virgil C. S u mme r Nuclear Station Technical Specifications are pr ov id ed for further clarification of the proposed revision.

The in f orma t ion in Table 3.8.1 will be maintained as part of the plant design, and testing will be performed to insure that devices required for penetration protection fu nc tion as designed.

The surveillance requirements for these pr o t e c t iv e devices are described on'the attached marked-up copy of page 3/4 8-16 of the Technical Specifications.

Please replace the corresponding page in the April 29, 1985 submittal with this attached page.
