This letter corrects an editorial error in my August 27,1996 letter on the same subject.. GPU Nuclear submitted the subject change request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on June 18, 1996. The proposed amendment would allowimplementationof 10 CFR 50 Appendix J, Option B.

The New Jersey Departmentof Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering reviewed the above request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b) and has no comments with the understandingthat the containment will be inspected in the Fall 1996 refueling outage in a manner similar to inspections performed in previous refueling outages.
