.I Public Service Electric and Gas Company submitted the subject change request to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission on June 18, 1996. The proposed amendment would allow implementation of 10 CFR 50 Appendix J, Option B.

l The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Bureau of Nuclear Engineering reviewed the above request in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b) and has no comments with the understandingthat the containment will be inspected in the Fall 1996 refueling outage in a manner similar to inspections perfonned in previous refueling outages.
