l 1.

Describe the inspection technique (s) that will be used for the fabrication acceptance and baseline eddy-current examinations of tubes repaired by sleeving.

2.

Describe the qualification guidelines that will be used for personnel with respect to the qualification of personnel and techniques for the performance of examinations of repaired tubes.

Does the licensee plan to follow the latest revision of the EPRI PWR Steam Generator Examination Guidelines?

3.

Describe the initial scope of inservice inspection that will be performed on sleeved tubes, including the expansion criteria, should one or more defective sleeved tubes be j

l 2.

Include the inservice inspection expansion criteria that will be applied for sleeved tubes should one or more defective slaeved tubes be identified.

Responses to NRC Questions:

1.

The post installation acceptance inspection of laser welded sleeves will be performed with the Cecco probe.

This probe is qualified in accordance with Appendix H of the EPRI PWR l

Steam Generator Guidelines.

In addition, a Plus Point RPC l

probe will be used to perform an informational base line inspection of the sleeve to support future steam generator ISI inspections.

I 2.

All data analysts reviewing eddy current data results l

(tubing and sleeves) will be qualified in accordance with Appendix G of the EPRI guidelines.

Union Electric currently plans to follow Revision 4 of the EPRI PWR Steam Generator Guidelines.

Future revisions of the EPRI Guidelines will be evaluated and adopted as appropriate.

I L
