Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) hereby submits as Enclosures I and II, the summary report of the Detailed Control Room Design Review (DCRDR) and the report on Regulatory Guide 1.97 - Post Accident Monitoring Compliance.
These documents are in response to the requirements of Generic Letter 82-33,
" Supplement 1 to NUREG-0737 - Requirements for Emergency Response Capability,"
Sections 5 and 6.
Enclosure I is the Control Room Design Review (CRDR) supplemental report which addresses proposed control room changes, NRC program plan comments and provides a summary justification for Human Engineering Discrepancies (HEDs) left partially corrected. The report also discusses the proposed implementation schedule of HEDs that will be corrected.
Enclosure II is a Summary Report of the Virgil C. Summer Design Basis versus Regulatory Guide 1.97, Revision 3 requirements. The report was developed with the assistance of the Westinghouse Corporation and Gilbert Associates in order to ensure compliance with plant specific design requirements and identification of critical safety functions.
