On May 15, at 1006, with Unit 3 at 100's reactor power, RCP P003 tripped on neutral ground overcurrent.

caused a reactor trip signal to be generated. A short circuit failure (f the RCP P003 motor phase "C" surge protection capacitor occurred due to long tera vibration-induced abrasian damage to the mylar plastic insulation withiri the capacitor asscmoly.

The surge capacitors for al, four Unit 3 RCPs were replaced with in-kind parts and the surge capacitors for the Unit 2 RCPs will be rer: 1ced during the next outage of sufficient duration.
