April 2, 1984 The Honorable J. James Eron Senate Office Building Washington D. C.
2oS15 TAy does Three rile Island Unit fl still stand idle ? Why does the ERC continue to refuse a re-start 7 This plant was not involved in the accident at TEI-2 and it is time to get it back into power production.
There can be no question of competency.
f ter all GPU has been going through, they certainly would not risk anything less than completely qualified operators.
But the NRO has kept T2I-1 shut down for the past five years, which has caused financial problems to both the company and the stock holders.
I am a 77 year old retires and only one of many senior sitizens who have invested a large portion of their life savings in GPU common stock for retirement income. We ha ve suffered up to a 55% capital loss in aceket value and f or these past five years we ha va had no dividends.
Our first need is f or the NRO to ellow a re-start at TEI-1. Te certainly hope it will not be another five years before we get some retern on our investments.
Ilease help. Please do what you can to get TZI-l back on the line.
