BELLEFWTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 - DEFICIENCY IN OVERLAP EDELING TECHNIQUES - BLRD-50-43 8/84-43, BLRD-50-439/84 SECOND INTERIM REPORT The subject deficiency was initially reporte:1 to NRC-0IE Inspector P. E. Fredrickson on August 1, 1984 in accordance with 10 TR 50.55(e) as NCR BLN GB 8412.
This was followed by our interim report dated August 28, 1984.
Enclmed is our second interim report. We expect to sutxnit our next report' on & about April 1, 1986.

SECOND INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency TVA has identified that the Bellefonte Nuclear Plant (BLN) MA-3 Rigorous Analysis Handbook (RAH) was deficient in overlap modeling techniques before March 15,1984 The seismic response spectra of two or more problems being overlapped were not required by the BLN RAH to be enveloped. Additionally, support loads in the overlap region were rot increased by 10 percent.
Interim Progress TVA is still in the process of reviewing piping aralysis probles with overlap.
Further information will be provided in our next report on this itm.
