MONTH: May,1996 l

i McGuire Unit 2 began the month of May in end-of-cycle 10 refueling outage. The refueling outage j

spanned 39.44 days. The unit was placed on-line 05/14/96 at 1559. During power escalation, the unit held j

at approximately 10% power from 05/14/96 at 1700 to 2l00 due to feedwater chemistry. The unit held at i

30% power from 05/15/96 at 0000 to 05/17/96 at 0255 due to power escalation testing and feedwater valve i

(2CF-28).On 05/18/96 from 0314 to 1035 the unit held at 78% power due to power escalation tesung. On j

05/22/96 at 0426 *2B' reactor coolant pump tripped causing a reactor trip. The unit remained in the outage the remainder of the month.
