Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Emergency Response Data System.
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Units 2 and 3 This letter is to inform the NRC of changes that have been made to the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) Units 2 and 3.
These changes were discussed with Mr. John Joliceour of the NRC staff on March 21, 1996. As required by 10CFR50 Appendix E.
Section VI.3.a. any hardware and software changes that affect the transmitted
-data points identified in the ERDS Data Point Library must be submitted to the NRC within 30 days after the changes are completed. Accordingly, the revised pages to the ERDS Data Point Library are provided in the' Enclosures to this letter.
Data points for the Letdown Line Radiation Monitor R202 and Containment Purge Vent Stack Radiation Monitors RT7828 A and B have been removed from the ERDS Data Point Library.
These three monitors for each unit are not currently in service.
Monitor R202 which has been removed from service, provided information for the reactor coolant system (RCS) letdown ERDS parameter. The information for this parameter can be obtained by a grab sample through the Post-Accident Sampling System (PASS) and provided to the NRC over the Emergency Notification System (ENS).
Monitors RT7828 A and B, which were never in service, were intended to provide information for the Effluent Gas ERDS by the wide range gas monitor (RT7865) parameter. This information is provided
, which also provides input to the ERDS system.
The above described changes were implemented on the ERDS SONGS 2 and 3 data bases on May 9, 1996.
This letter is the formal 10CFR50 Appendix E Section VI.3.a notification of'the changes to the EROS data base for both SONGS Unit 2 and Unit 3.
