Description-of the Problem

The problem pertains to C11-Magnetrol.751' level switches.
These switches aro manufactured by Magnetrol Company and are supplied to Nine Mile Point. Unit 2
' by General Electric.
General. Electric's Early - Warning Notice No. 47 indicated that during a high energy line-break the switch gasket could. fail, thus resulting in a failure /short of the microswitch. - The failure of the switch could result in the loss of safety-related de power supply.
The subject switches are used in safety related systems.
The matter is still being investigated and a final report will-be submitted by February 4,1985 i
