Centrus Energy Corp. Environmental Report Telephone Summary Date and Time: 11:00 a.m.; April 8, 2020 Call

Participants:

Centrus - Kelly Wiehle (Regulatory Manager), Matt Sanders (Production Support Manager),

Chris Brust (Environmental & Waste Management - Subject Matter Expert), Michael Daniels (Environmental & Waste Management)

NRC - Yawar Faraz, Jean Trefethen, Diana Diaz-Toro, Cynthia Román, Jacob Zimmerman The purpose of the conference call was to discuss Centrus Energy Corp.s, (Centrus) planned changes to its Environmental Report (ER) for Centrus anticipated American Centrifuge Pant (ACP) license amendment request involving the 16-centrifuge High Assay Low Enriched Uranium (HALEU) cascade, which Centrus plans to construct in Piketon Ohio.

Centrus indicated that a primary change to the ER for the HALEU cascade versus the ER that was prepared for the ACP in 2006 would be a description of the proposed action (Phase 1) involving the 16 centrifuge HALEU cascade. The cascade will be assembled in one of the two existing process buildings Centrus leases from the Department of Energy (DOE) in the same location as the recently decommissioned Lead Cascade Facility, which involved up to 240 operating centrifuges. Centrus will also be updating the demographics of the area as needed, and will be discussing DOEs ongoing and planned decommissioning activities at the gaseous diffusion plant located on the same reservation as the ACP. Centrus added that the 2006 ER for the ACP addressed about 48,000 centrifuges in the two existing and two yet to be built process buildings. Centrus also indicated that it will identify a return to DOE of a few leased areas as they would not be needed for the proposed HALEU cascade operations.
