Dear Mr. Keppler:
References (a) and (b) provided information concerning a deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding the adequacy of installation and inspection of the quarter-inch liner plates for the Auxiliary Building Ventilation Exhaust Filter Huusings, the Unit 1 and 2 Reactor Containment Fan Cooler Housing, and the Unit 1 and 2 eighty-four inch return air risers at our Braidwood Station.
The purpose of this letter is to provide an updated status of the corrective actions taken to resolve this issue.
This letter is considered to be an Interim Report.
STATUS OF CORRECTIVE ACTION Sargent & Lundy (S&L) will field verify and evaluate the as-built conditions of the subject housings and risers.
Following evaluation, S&L will develop sketches and drawings to be used by Pullman Sheet Metal (PSM) to document remaining configuration and weld quality inspections.
PSM is continuing to review and organize existing documentation to identify missing weld quality inspection records.
Following completion of this review, PSM will use the S&L sketches and drawings to conduct the necessary inspections to develop a complete inspection record.
l At this time, it is anticipated that the S&L field verification effort will be initiated in January, 1985.
However, an overall implementation schedule for all corrective actions has not been developed.
An interim report updating the status of corrective actions will be submitted by March 15, 1985.'
