NARRATIVE

SUMMARY

OF MONTHLY OPERATING EXPERIENCE - OCTOBER, 1984 October 1 The station was in operational mode 1 with reactor power a through nominal 100%. The reactor coolant system was at normal October 7 operating temperature and pressure.

October 8 The station began end-of-cycle coastdown from 984 to 951 through power in preparation for scheduled refueling outage.

October 10 October 11 The station was operating at 95% power. At 1458 hours0.0169 days <br />0.405 hours <br />0.00241 weeks <br />5.54769e-4 months <br />, a reactor trip occurred due to the loss of the 1B 4KV bus. The loss of the IB 4KV Bus was attributed to excessive ground current during the performance of BVIS Unit #2 transformer back feed testing. At 1515 hours0.0175 days <br />0.421 hours <br />0.0025 weeks <br />5.764575e-4 months <br />, an Unusual Event was declared due to the loss of onsite power to the IB 4KV Bus.
