Dear Mr. Keppler:
References (a), (b), and (c) provided information concerning a deficiency reportable pursuant to 10 CFR 50.55(e) regarding fabrication of Pullman Sheet Metal duct fittings without approved design documents at our Braidwood Station.
The purpose of this letter is to provide an additional update on the status of the corrective actions taken to resolve this deficiency.
Status of Corrective Action To reduce the quantity of fittings requiring submittal of as-builts to Sargent &,Lundy (S&L), Pullman Sheet Metal (PSM) has conducted a review of shop fabrication tickets to identify those duct fittings which may not be fabricated in accordance with approved details currently included in the PSM Duct Brochure.
This review, completed November 5, 1984, identified approximately 2700 duct fittings requiring field evaluation for conformance with the PSM Duct Brochure.
Fittings not installed per the PSb Duct Brochure will have as-builts prepared.
The as-builts ill be evaluated by S&L, and the fittings will be inspected by PSM Quality Control.

. PSM's submittals of as-builts is expected to be completed by February 1, 1985.
S&L's engineering evaluation of as-builts is.
expected to be completed one month following PSM's. completion of submittals.
A completion date for the configuration inspection by PSM Quality Control has not been established at this time.
All corrective action is being tracked by Commonwealth Edison Company NCR-540.
We expect to submit an interim report updating the status of-these activities by April 1, 1985.
