P. O. Box 101, New Hill, N. C. 27562 April 30,1984 Mr. James P. O'Reilly NRC-215 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region II 101 Marietta Street, Northwest (Suite 2900)

Atlanta, Georgia 30303

Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

In our March 16, 1984 response to RII:

WPA 50-400/84-02, we committed to full compliance of all aspects by May 1,1984. This letter is to inform you that the corrective actions have been completed on the Reactor Vessel Supports as stated in our response.

The commitment to complete the review of existing special procedures for installation of major equipment items and the issuance of revisions as necessary has not been met to date.

The review and revisions of the procedures for installation of major equipment items is complete with the exception of the Pressurizer. Although the installation is considered adequate, our review has determined the need for additional documentation of inspections. Therefore, it is projected that we will require until July 1,1984 to be in full compliance with our commitment.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

Yours very truly, ppy) c '== L R. M. Parsons Project General Manager Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant RMP/sh cc:
