OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT ONE AUGUST, 1984 The status of Unit I remains shutdown with all fuel removed. The environ-ment and equipment continues to be maintained as needed.

On August 31,.1984, an announcement was made by CECO. Corporate Offices that as of this date Unit I has been officially retired.

Chemical cleaning activities are continuing and during " mock runs" small leahs developed in some flanges and pump seals which necessitated delays.

It is expected in September, that another " mock.run" will'be performed and soon after that actual chemical cleaning of piping will be in operation.

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO AUGUST, 1984' Unit 2 entered the month operating'at a power level of 775 MWe and operated continuously during the entire month (with normal power reductions for weekend surveillances). reaching a power level of 785 MWe with a capacity factor 'of 85.48% and an availability of 100%.

. AUGUST, 1984 08-01 to 08-05 Unit 3 entered.the month operating'at 680 MWe and was-limited by th'e condensate decineralizer differential pressure.. Load was ' reduced on August 4th in preparation for the planned turbine overspeed test which took place 4

early in the morning-of August 5th.

08-05 to 08-24 The unit operated from the '5th through August 21st when -

the 3A Feedwater Regulator valve failed and the unit scrammed. Prior to bringing the unit on-line, the Rx scrammed on August 22nd because of improper mode switch movement by the operator and on August 23rd the Rx 4

scrammed because of an IRM hi-hi condition by the LH. Dept.

The unit was brought on-line on August 24th.

08-24 to 08-31 The unit operated continuously during the remainder of the month reaching a power level of 780 MWe with a capacity factor of 74.78% and an availability of 92.41%.
