Our letter of May 4, 1984 recpested a Technical Specifications change for Hatch Unit 1_which would expand the definition of " Operability" (as recpested bf NRC) to include functionality of mpport eglipment. We now reglest that the shutdown reglirements of the previously reglested definition be amended. Additionally, the page albnitted was incorrectly identified as a Unit 2 Technical Specification page. We therefore wish to amend our albnittal of May 4, 1984 to replace the previously mbaitted Technical Specification page (incorrectly identified as page 1-4), with the enclosed page'l.0-3.

The shutdown recpirement contained in the May 4,1984 albnittal has been revised to call for entering the Hot Shutdown condition in 12 hours1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> instead of specifying Hot Standby in 6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br /> and Hot Shitdown in the next 6 hours6.944444e-5 days <br />0.00167 hours <br />9.920635e-6 weeks <br />2.283e-6 months <br />.

This allows consistency with other Limiting (brditions for Operation and provides more operational flexibility. No other changes have been made to the content of the previous albnittal.

The Plant Review Boar'd has determined that the proposed revisions to our previous albnittal do not constitute an unreviewed safety cuestion. The revised shutdown recpirement does not affect probabilities or consecpences of analyzed accidents. No new accident types are created. The margin of safety is not affected.

The -safety evaluation and determination of no significant hazards enclosed with our May 4,1984 mbnittal remain valid.
