Dear Mr. Denton:

The backup Emergency Operations Facility (EOF) for the Virgil C.

Summer-Nuclear Station is located approximately twenty-five (25) miles south of the station in the Corporate Of fice of South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) in Columbia, South Carolina.

Approval from the Staf f on this lccation was received by SCE&G in a letter from D.

Eisenhut to 0. W. Dixon, Jr., dated May 9, 1984.

This backup EOF is now fully operational and has been considered functional since June 10, 1983 when Revision 10 to the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Emergency Plan was implemented.
