I am formally notifying the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that the University is in the process of changing the status of its AGN-201 Nuclear Reactor from an operational mode to a temporary shut-down mode effective as of May 31,1983.

The fuel-containing control rods are in the process of being removed and stored in a locked safe.
