We have recently received from New Jersey-State. Police a copy of.their approved internal policy-. statement which requires, effective immediately, their duty officer or hazardous material' emergency response personnel _ to promptly notify the-OCNGS Group Shift Supervisor (GSS) or OCNGS Control Room with the characteristics of an incident: involving hazardous material'in-Lacey-or Ocean Township,- and provide-further -information on-any significant changes.
Upon receiving the call frou the New Jersey State Police duty officer, 'the GSF
'will _ reference OCNGS procedure 2000iABN-3200.33, " Toxic Material / Flammable Gas-F Rclease - No Radiation Involved" for. appropriate actions'.
Actions described above. and issues related to OCNGS Control Room habitability were discussed in our cecent' meeting with the NRC staft on'May-11,-1992..
We believe the prompt notification to the GSS--by New Jersey State Police-following a hazardous. material incident and-OCNGS procedures'for, appropriate actions will ensure safe. operation of OCNGS.
