Docket No. 50-219 Station Blackout - Control Room Loss of Ventilation Test On November 19, 1991 the NRC contacted GPUN and requested additional information regarding the subject test which was referenced in our recent response to the NRC Safety Evaluation Report on Station Blackout. The L
specific questions asked, and our response, which was informally given to the NRC on the same date, appear below.
Question 1.
What was the outdoor temperature when the Control Room Loss of Ventilation Test was conducted, in November, 19897 Answer 1.
At the beginning of the test the outdoor temperature was measured at 48'F.
At the end of the test the measured outdoor temperature was 42.5'F.
Question 2.
What is the elevation of the central control room?
Answer 2.
The control room h, located in the Main Office Building
-on elevation 46' 6".
Question 3.
Is there another floor above the control room or is the roof of the control roem exposed to the outside environment?
J Answer 3.
The ceiling of the control room is insulated from the outside environment by another floor, which is part of the new cable spreading room located on elevation 63' 9".

the temperature in these rooms taken into account during the test?
Answer 4.
The control room is surrounded by different rooms, corridors and the turbine building, with just one exterior wall.
The North wall of the control room is partially an exterior wall. The exterior portion, which 3
is in contact with the outside environment is approximately 31' long by 15' high. The temperature of the surrounding rooms were not taken into account during the test.
