Dear Mr. O'Reilly:

BELLEFONTE NUCLEAR PLANT UNITS 1 AND 2 -' PRESSURE DROP ACROSS 'VELAN 2-1/2-INCH STOP/ CHECK VALVE - BLRD-50-438/83-19, BLRD-50-439/83 SUPPLEMENTAL REPORT The subject deficiency was initially reported to NRC-0IE Inspector A. K. Hardin on February 2,1983 in accordance with 10 CFR 50.55(e) as NCR 2212. This was followed by our interim reports dated March 3 and September 20,1983 and our final. report dated January '25,.1984. Below is our supplemental report. We consider 10 CFR Part 21 applicable to this i

deficiency.

As discussed with NRC-0IE Inspector C. A. Julian on April 13, 1984, the date of April 20, 1984 for completion of corrective actions indicated in our final report on this matter would not be met. The replacement discs have been received by TVA; however, flushing activities in adjacent systems prevent valve disassembly at this time. The corrective action on this matter will~ be completed by May 25, 1984.

If you have any questions concerning this matter, please get in touch with R. H. Shell at FTS 858-2688.

Very truly yours, TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY l
