E By letter dated May 18,1995, Southern Nuclear provided the results of the seismic evaluation performed for Farley Nuclear Plant (FNP) in response to Generic Letter 87-02,
" Verification of Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Operating Reactors, Unresolved Safety Issue (USI) A-46." By letter dated June 28,1995, Southern Nuclear provided the FNP response to GL 88-20 Supplement 4, " Individual Plant j
Examination for External Events for Severe Accident Vulnerabilities." These letters stated i
the Southern Nuclear intent to resolve certain outliers with regard to the seismic evaluation criteria by December 31,1995. Resolution of these outliers is nearing completion.

However, Southern Nuclear has determined that three items that were initially considered for resolution by year-end will not be completed. These items all involve improvements to equipment anchorage and are identified as follows:

QSH21ES25-A Diesel Generator 1-2A Local Control Panel 2.
QSH22L502-A Diesel Generator 1-2A Relay Panel 3.
Q2R36A502-B 4 kV Switchgear 2L Surge Arrestor Items 1 and 2 will be coordinated with the next scheduled diesel generator outage and will be completed by April 1,1996. Item 3 is scheduled to be performed during the next i
refueling outage for Unit 2 (Fall 1996).
