Thank you for your consideration of Carolina Power and Light Company's dental of the violation in the subject rep o rt. Carolina Power and Light has reviewed your June 29, 1984 staf f evaluation of the denial and provides the requested i
inf o rma tion.
1.
Corrective Steps Which Have Been Taken and Results Achieved.
In order to alleviate any concern the NRC may have on control of welding electrodes, Carolina Power and Light Company has saide the following conservative changes to WP-502 in Revision 11.
A.
Coated electrodes returned to the issue station which were not issued in a portable rod caddie will be destroyed regardless of exposure time.
B.
Coated electrodes issued in a portable rod caddie shall be used or destroyed once they have been removed from the caddie.
2.
Corrective Steps Which Will be Taken to Avoid Further Violation.
The corrective steps mentioned above should prevent recurrence.
3.
