Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Generic Letter 83-28 GPU Nuclear provided a response to Generic Letter 83-28 on November 14, 1983.

At that time, we stipulated procedural changes required to implement our plans relative to Generic Letter 83-28 Item 1.1 and 1.2 (Post Trip Review).

These changes were to be made by March 31, 1984.

The purpose of this letter is to inform the NRC that these changes have not been made to date and that GPU Nuclear intends to make the appropriate changes prior to start-up from the current refueling outage.

The work load associated with the current extended Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Cycle 10 Refueling Outage necessitated the rescheduling of the above procedure changes.

The previous date of March 31, 1984 had also been based on completion of the procedure changes prior to start-up.

With respect to Item 4.5.3 (Reactor Trip System Reliability) of Generic Letter 83-28, GPU Nuclear planned to submit a final report by July,1984.

Since our November 14, 1983 letter. GPU Nuclear has decided to participate in the BWR Owners Group's Technical Specification Improvement Program which will respond to Item 4.5.3 of the generic letter.

Based on the owners grcup schedule for completing this program, a submittal for the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station is planned for September 15, 1985.
