Containment Spray Pump Venting
Dear Mr. Johnson:
This letter withdraws the potential 10CFR50.55(e) concerning venting of the containment spray pumps at Wolf Creek Generating Station. This matter was initially reported by Mr. H. K. Chernoff of Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) to Mr. Doyle flunnicutt of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region IV, on June 14, 1984.
The Architect / Engineer has completed an engineering evaluation of the "as-built" configuration on the containment spray pump seal piping and determined that the pump seal piping can be adequately vented. Based on the results of this evaluation, KG&E has determined that the existing conditions would not have affected adversely the safety of operations of Wolf Creek Generating Station had they gone uncorrected. Therefore, KG&E has concluded that this matter is not reportable pursuant to 10CFR50.55(e).
