SECOND INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency Trip breakers 1NR-52-015-F and 016-G failed testing because they would not close. Some of the electrical contacts that function during the close stroke also appear to be burned. A contributing factor of the failure appears to be a lack of proper maintenance or storage.

Interim Progress TVA is pursuing resolution of this issue through the B&W Owners Group in coordination with General Electric. Both short-term technical resolutions for operating plants and long-term resolutions for all plants are being examined. TVA will submit a final report on this nonconformance when corrective action for this condition has been determined.
