3. O DEPARTMENT FUNCTION The Operations Department, under the direc-tion of the Superintendent, Operations,= is responsible to the Assistant Manager, Oper-ations and Maintenance for safe, legal and efficient operation of the Callaway Nuclear Plant. The Superintendent, Operations is directly responsible to the Assistant Manager, Operations and Maintenance for the development and execution of procedures to carry out his' assigned task.

l 4.2.3 . Shift Supervisor (SS) l 4.2.3.1 The SS has the authority and- responsibili-ties to direct all activities affecting the safe, legal, and efficient. operation of the Callaway Plant. ,

4.2.3.2 Following a reactor trip or substantial unexplained power reduction, the SS shall:

l 4.2.3.2.1 Analy::e the circumstances, l 4.2.3.2.2 Determine the cause, 4.2.3.2.3 Determine that operations can proceed safely, and l 4.2.3.2.4 Obtain approval from the Emergency Duty Of-ficer (EDO) during off-normal hours, or the j SO Ior his designee) during normal working hout; before the reactor is returned to cri ticality or its original power level.

4.2.3.3 The SS is normally the Senior Management Representative on site during off hours, weekends, and holidays. In this capacity -

he has the authority to:
