ULNRC 873 DOCKET NUMBER 50-483 CALLAWAY PLANT, UNIT 1 OPERATING STAFF EXPEPIENCE REQUIREMENTS

References:

1) ULNRC-823 dated May 16, 1984
2) ULNRC-847 dated June 19, 1984 Calle.va'; Operating License (NPF-25), Attachment 2 concerns the operating staff experience requirements for Callaway. The Callaway Shift Advisor Program has been discussed with NRC as documented in Reference 2.

Union Electric has provided the names and resumes of the advisors via Reference 1, along with an evaluation which determined the advisors are competent to provide advice to the operating shifts. This same information will be provided for future advisors prior to their assignment to shift duties.

Enclosed herewith is a copy cf procedure APA-ZZ-00010, Rev. 4, Conduct of Operations - Operations, which hae been revised to more clearly define the advisors' responsibilities. The pertinent changes in this revision are located in Section 4.2.8, Shift Advisors (S.A.).

The shift advisors and shift crews wil' be trsined in this procedure revision prior to exceeding 5% power.

This traiaing will also be provided to any new operations advisors or operations personnel.

We believa the information transmitted to date and the commitment to complete training prior to exceeding 5% power satisfies the requirements of to the Callaway Operating License.
