SUMMARY
MONTH:
February 1992 Catawba Unit 2 began the ironth of February in power esculation following control valve movement test.
The unit remained at or near 100% until 2140 on 02/24 when during weekly main turbine valve movement testing the combined interrtediat; valve stroked closed and would not reopen.
A power decrease was begun at 0048 on 02/25 to investigate and repair the combined intermediate valve.
Load reduction was secured at 6 5 't from 0650 on 02/25 to 0001 on 02/26 to investigate the problem, load reduction was secured at 23% from 610 to 830 on 02/26 to investigate the problem.
The turbine was manually tripped at 1137 on 02/26, the reactor remained at 101, to repair the coubined intermediate valve.
The turbine was placed on-line at 0024 on 02/27 and reached 100% at 2020 on 02/27.
The unit remained at 100% for the rest of the month.
