50-220 On May 21, 1972, during the poison curtain removal outage at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station, Unit #1, the main steam line isolation valves were leak tested.
Steam flow from the reactor to the turbine is thru two lines each with two isolation valves, one located inside the drywell, the other located outside the drywell. All four valves must meet the same time closure criteria as set forth in Technical Specification's Table 3.2.7.
revealed all valves except the outside valves in each line The first test were within the new leakage criteria of 12.9'SCFH.
Following repcirs to the outside isolation valves retesting of all four isolation valves on May 2S and 26, 1972 using a test of 22 psig air pressure revealed all within criteria.
Results for all valves follow:
- 11 Inside 6.3 SCFH
- 11 Outside 7.2 SCFH
- 12 Inside 0.0 SCFil
- 12 Outside 10.0 SCFil
