M. Vercelli on March,8,1984.in accordarce with 10 CFR 50.55(e) as NCR 2922. Enclosed is our first interim report, We expect to submit our next report by July 13, 1984.

FIRST INTERIM REPORT Description of Deficiency TVA nonconformance report (NCR) 1894 (BLRD-50-438/82-66, BLRD-50-439/82-59) identified a significant condition adverse to quality (CAQ) in which groove welds, as specified on TVA drawing series 4D'40760-X2, were made as fillet welds. The subject welds are cable tray support welds in the diesel gerterator building (DGB). As corrective action given in the final report to the NRC on NCR 1894, TVA committed to mvise the drawing series 4DWO760-X2 and to mwork the affected supports per those revised drawings. NCR 1894 was closed and signed off as having had all corrective action completed and inspected on June 16, 1983 It has now been identified that none of the affected MK8C cable tray supports in the DGB have been reworked as was required by the disposition of and shown as being completed on the closed NCR 1894.
, Interim Progress TVA will review all cable tray supports which required changes as a result of NCR 1894. These supports will be checked for compliance to present require-ments per the revised drawings series 4DWO760-X2. Work releases will be prepared to correct any deficiencies that are found on the installed supports which have finalized quality control documentation.
