EST the plant received a l bomb ~ threat' via two telephone calls.

The caller alleged that a bomb

wasDin the reactorfbuilding.

A " Notification of an Unusual ~ Event" was 2 declaredwithin tone hour with all appropriate Plant.

Emergency

.. Procedures in effect.

~ All unnecessary personnel were evacuated from

' both { 'reac tor ' buildings.

Incoming personnel (day shift) were given only limited access to, vital protected ' area buildings and. contractor

personnel were not permitted inside ~ the protected area.

The Unit 1 jreactor modeEswitch was in start-up/ hot-standby' position with reactor power at approximately'30 MWTJ(approximately 1.2% power) and the Unit 2 reactor mode switch was Lin. refuel-mode with no fuel in the reactor

-vessel.

This1 event was an t equal threat to ' both units of the plant; however, Unit 1 startup ' wa's ~ not 'affected by this event..The health andi-safety Lof. - the ' in both reactor. buildings revealed no bomb. or public were not~ affected by this event.

The bomb search; conducted-suspected bomb..

The." Notification.of an-Unusual Event" was closed out at approximately 9:45 A.M..EST.

The cause1of. this event was attributed to a caller who made a~ false

public,- alarm;.
The initiation-of emergency procedures,. and all personnel-following ~through with their responsibilities were the

~

immediate corrective actions.

2 The-; security ' investigation L ha's not revealed a suspect: to be - arrested and charged. with transmitting a false public alarm.

The Georgia State

.. Highway. Patrol and local-Sheriff's. Departments were available to cassist in the -:inv es tigation and to render assistance to the plant during~the entire event.
