Dear Mr. Denton:

In a letter dated January 31, 1984, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) responded to concerns raised by.your staff concerning Intergranular Stress Corrosion Cracking Inspections performed by CP&L at the Brunswick Steam (Electric Plant-(BSEP) Unit 1.

In order to a'ddress'these concerns, CP&L committed in addition to other commitments,'to a mid-cycle-inspection which was scheduled to begin on or

~before October 15. 1984. The start date for this mid-cycle inspection was

_ incorrectly reported and should be changed to on or before November 2, 1984.
