RE: My 2.206 Petition to the NRC on the Tech Reactor /ALARA/ Sewer dumping etc.

Dear Executive Director,

As You can see, I have decorated this letter with a few of the things which will die if there is some sort of catastrophe concerning the reactor

,, on the Georgia Tech campus.

1) It is disgraceful that press releases are being issued conveying the impression that all will be well at the reactor if the HEU is moved. What are you going to do with it ? Stash it under the floor like the cesium-137 ? NRC's

& own documents say both can be stored onsite (i.e. the LEU and HEU), Dr. Karam tells me the cobalt-60 stays and that "negociations" are underway on the cesium 137.

This is crazy.

2) What about the spent fuel rods ? The Order says nothing about removing them ? NRC says I have to put in writing that I want to know what you are all doing with the spent fuel rods. So, here it is in writing "WHAT ARE YOU GOING 'IO DO WITH THE SPENT FUEL RODS ? ARE YOU GOING TO LET THEM STAY ONSITE ON CAMPUS, OR ARE YOU GOING TO GET THE BLOODY THINGS OUT OF THERE ?" If you are going to get them out, you need to get a move on as the Olympics are getting closer.

3) Who is going to be paying for the cleanup of all this and the removal ?

4) I INSIST that only the most highly qualified people be used to do all this if you do it, .

5) ARE UIILITIES ACROSS GEORGIA AND THE NATION STORING THEIR SPENT FUEL RODS ON ,

SITE ? SUCH AS GEORGIA POWER CO. AT PLANTS HATCH II AND L, AND PLANT VOGTLE ?

I was told by the NRC to put that question in writing too.It is my understanding that they are. Don't you think you should print that in the area newspapers to inform people who live nearby in case they need to make a dash for the hills if there's an earthquake or hurricane / tornado ? During the Olympics, as so many visitors will be crossing Georgia under my 2.206 I demand that NRC block off all roads leading to those facilities and get airspace restricted.

6) Will NRC get the heavy water out at the Tech reactor and the radioactive and other wastes ? (The junk in the tin shack out back.) You should.

7) Even if part of the Orme St. trunk area is fixed before the Olympics, the water that must have saturated all the soil in the area for years would then dry out, that in itself could cause sinkholes.

8) Some of the Olympic housing is sinking. Some has sunk 9 inches. Guess where?

I guessed when I called the architects firm involved....the ones built near the Orme St. trunk line of course.

9) Over the years, countless students from across the nation and around the world have studied at Tech. They all know what is on site at the reactor, apart from the fact that it's in public documents. No one knows what has happened to the fabric of those students lives in the meanwhile. For press releases to have been issued only about the HEU was stupid and dangerous as it let people know that LEU was coming in and anyone who ever studied there, or who knows what is there from public documents etc. who are of ill vill, will deduce that the rest of the crud is staying, or NRC/ Tech would have said it wasn't. I don't know how many times I told NRC to get the stuff out say, in the middle of the night under armed guard and I didn't care how it was done or when, but just do it. I assumed that for security reasons it would all be done at once if NRC decided to agree to my 2.206. 2 they are safe (meanwhile little has changed) and yet anyone who knows anything about this in detail knows it is hogwash - and that would include any " bad guys" I'm trying my darnedest to protect everyone from, as is GANE. It seems the only way one can hope to get NRC to act is to get massive public outcry, as NRC and Tech do not inspire confidence in protecting the public by letting everything else sit there and to make matters worse, let everyone know roughly when the LEU is coming and the HEU going / staying or whatever, instead of presenting everyone with a fait accompli, THEN announcing it had all been done. If the federal government can move staggering amounts of deadly nuclear cru%d by air from Khazakstan (which'was deadly, stupid and irresponsible - moving it by air, besidesj let them keep their own mess, send them guards if need be) to Oak Ridge at a cost of millions, then it can certainly remove a nuclear reactor and all that goes with it from the center of Atlanta. Quickly. Quietly.1:0W.

What is the REAL reason everyone seems so determined to keep that dump going ? Is it to use the spent fuel (after processing etc.) for nuclear weapons ? Wehaveenoughq of those.

Finally, under "special nuclear materials" and all those cute little special experiments run at Tech, how much plutonium was involved ? How much went out the stack and onto the campus ? Why won't NRC test the sewer lines I've been asking Q to have tested for nearly two years now ? And the soil around the lines and reactor ?

I understand the plume was never stuMied either , why not ?

Why won't NRC re-examine those teflon gadgets ? Why won't NRC examine the support structure, the steel hb1 ding up the core area ? Why won't NRC run the X-Rays I asked for ? When is NRC going to prohibit the dumping of rad-waste to sewers? Oceans 1 Why won't NRC act ?

In my testimony in front of the Justices at the GANE hearing, I told Dr. Karam of an African saying :" Now that you have struck the women, you have struck a rock."

I shall not rest until my 2.206 is granted, and I shall not' move from my position that everything must go. It is the only sensible route to take.

Chernobyl or the original Ukrainian "Chornobyl" means " Wormwood" a perennial herb with bitter qualities or " bitter mortification or its cause" depending on which part of the dictioury definition or.e uses.. It stands on the banks of one river (prypiat) near the confluence of two others ( Dnieper and Uzh).

I have told NRC that this reactor stands on the Wahoo Creek formation. It is an Indian word. also a" wood" . Early settlers who at first called it Indian Arrow Wood translated it as " burning bush" or as " Bitter ash" It's also used medicinally like wormwood can be, it's bitter. As its a shrub with a special wood suited for spindles and arrows that may be where the first name came from. Many bushes referred to by early settlers as " burning bush" also blazed easily, others when blooming looked like they were on fire, Whatever the case,ve have bitterness, water and fire represented in one Indian word " Wahoo", Enough said.

I really think my 2.206 should be granted in whole, don't'you ?
