Conditions Prior to Vccurrence:
Unit 2 shutdown.
Description of Occurrence:
l During a routine functional surveillance test, the contacts which provide the LPCI system initiation from reactor low water level failed to operate.

Misalignment between the magnet and reed switch.
I Analysis of Occurrence:
Because the contacts on this device which provide the LPC:
System initiation are arranged in a one-out-of-two twice logie, tnis occurrence has minimal safety implications.
Corrective Action:
The reed switch was realigned to provide optimam switsn pickup. The switch was functionally tested several times and enecked for setpoint using the appropriate surveillance test.
Failure Data None.
