3A Reactor Building Exhaus.t Rad monitor.(RIS-3-1T h52A) High Badiation trip set point exceeded Technical Specification limits.

" CoEditions Prior to Occurrence:

Unit 3 was operating at 555 power.

Description of Occurrence.

While performing ST k.2 - Reactor Building Exhaust Radiation =onitor functional test, it was discovered that the 3A Radiation nonitor as found High Radiation trip setpoint was 2h cr/hr.

The Technical Specification limit is ( 16 nr/hr.

Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:

Instrument s etpoint -dF;l ft.

Analysis of Occurrence:

The device is one of four arranged in a one-out-of-two twice logic (which initiates a Group III isolation on reactor zone ventilation exhaust high radiation) such that the high trip setpoint would not have prevented the isolation fro = actuating at the correct.pcint.

For this reason, and.the fact that the device was still functional, the ssfety implication of this cecurrence is nininal.

Corrective Action:

The setpoint was adj ust ed. the calibration checked, a=d the surveillance test was successfully rerun on the 3A nonitor.

Failure Data:

No previcus failures of this type.
