Maile perfoming the Standby Liquid Control Pump Functional Test, ST 6.1, the "3A" punp failed to start on two attmpts; in each case the circuit breaker tripped. After nanually resetting the breaker the third time, the pump ran satisfactorily.
Designation of Arn7 rent Cause of Occurrence:
Retoval of the breaker and calibration in a test facility indicated that one phase nagnetic trip device nas adjusted narginally uith respect to the nomal starting current of the pump.
Analysis of Occurrence:
Tho safety significance of this occurrence is nininal since the 33 pump operated satisfactorily several nin.ites before the 3A pump tripped. Further, vii.hin ninutes after the initial tripping the 3A was operated satisfactorily.
Corrective Action:
o All three phase nacnetic trio devices on the breaker were recalibrated to accomtodate nomal pump starting current.
Failure DcA:
None.
