Main Steam Line Radiation Monitor RIS 3-17-251D failed down-scale while the plant was cperating at approximately 10Q% power.
Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:
Electronic failure.
Analysis of Occurrence:
The Monitor failed downscale which made the particular channel inoperative.
Because of the redundant channels of instrumentation, the remaining Main Steam Line High Radiation Isolation and Scram signals still had the capability of performing their intended functions. There-fore, minimal safety significance is attached to this occurrence.
Corrective Action:
The drawer was placed in the tripped condition until repairs were completed. Miscellaneous electronic parts were replaced.
The drawer was returned to service and has been funct ioning correctly since the repairs.
